The meaning of Tamil - coming from inside, within you. No other Language has this deep meaning. Only in Tamil. Tamil is born inside you. Thats why when a Baby is born, the very first word is Ingu (crying for milk)a Tamil word. This milk is from the Mother (Amma)within or coming from inside the Mother like the word Tamil (Tam + il)from inside.

Tamil is older than sanskrit which has been "demoted" to become a language in temples and few colleges unlike Tamil which still lives in many countries around the globe and in many other foreign language which have borrowed from Tamil.Tamil is indeed one of oldest/the oldest living and still spoken language in this world.there was no such a language called telugu/malayalam or kanada varying from 700 to 1200 years ago.Only Tamil was present since ancient times.
But it is indeed sad to see that those who owe to TAMIL prefer to be hypocrites and ask for recognition of thier mother tongue even if it does not qualify to be a classical language.
