I'm in high school, so I'm sort of forced to. and I love the sun, and daylight. I adore mornings, and late night, though interesting and emotional and deep, is more frightening than the lightness and happiness and brightness of day.

I am a student, so I HAVE to be active during the day anyway. Even when I graduate though, I would still be more comfortable physically if I work during the day and sleep at night.

I have always gotten up early to include fitness exercises at the gym for at least 1 hour a day. Doing Peak 8 for 23 minutes then doing weights every other day. When not lifting weights I do more cardio on the bicycle or ellipitical, or treadmil. All before going to work as a pharmacist. My morning routine gives me the alertness I need for the demands of accuracy on the job.

I like to work on home projects that require lots of noise from power tools, so I work by day when most people are awake. Sorry, night people. I also like to enjoy outdoor nature during the day. I start to get very tired by 10:00pm but I don't wake up till the sun comes up.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Because I like normality and like structured activities that are geared towards that.

I hate the noise, hustle and bustle of the day. People are always rushing around like that of a chicken with it's head cut off. Day time is a stressful time. I do have to function (though not happy about it.) during the day, as I have two young children & I'm going back to school. I find the stigma and assumptions surrounding "Night People" to be painfully unfair and one sided. Neighbors have labeled my household and anyone that comes or goes during the "bewitching hrs." 12A.M.- 3:00/4:00A.M. as Tweekers,
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
I selected "Night People" because they have higher IQs than "Day People".

No matter how much sleep I manage to get the night before I am tired during the day. I get a bit of a pick me up starting at around 5pm and then another bigger surge of energy starting at about 10pm. The worst part about being tired during the day is that my brain is foggy during the time of day when all the business deals and errands and contracts have to be done while my mind is crisp and clear late at night when none of these businesses and such are open and little can be done. I do believe it is genetic, because I've been this way since childhood and my parents struggled greatly in getting me up in the mornings and getting me to sleep at night. They never really succeeded and neither have I.

Feel tired all day, then at night feel energetic and ready to work out, party, dance, finish tasks and drive.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Even while sleep deprived, going to bed at night is HARD. In the morning, it's no problem.

Even if I do fall asleep by chance, getting up with the sun out is still a "chore."

In childhood I could use boygames like modellcars/trains only at night-I am a girl. Later school was boring and a slept at school and read scientific books at night. I get sunburned in summer, need Lightprotectin 30 and higher. At night its quiet and I can concentrate better, at daytime I sleep not disturbed by noice. I hope I get a work at night. As mother its practical to be awake at night, the children sleep and things like using hard householdchemicals can be done...

I've always been a night owl, even as a child. I'd lay in bed until 1 a.m. trying to will myself to sleep, but always failing. And getting up at 6 a.m. for work or school is always painful. Medical types always say you should not vary your sleep schedule on weekends, but I absolutely CANNOT go to bed early and get up early on Saturday/Sunday, or I'll be in a fog all weekend. It's the only opportunity I have to allow my normal sleep pattern to emerge. Also, when I'm sick, I automatically revert to my night pattern, i.e., sleep all day and stay awake most of the night.

I am much more active in the late afternoon and evenings, preferring to work later hours and finish household chores late at night. You may find me vacuuming or mopping floors at 2am. I am much more able to focus on tasks, brainstorm ideas or read and study later in the evenings.

I love the night. It is quiet and soothing. I have always been a night owl, and more of one being 64. I have found a 24 hour gym, along with Walgreens and Walmart. Yes, there is a disadvantage when going to appointments that are in the daytime. I try to make appointment scheduling late as possible!

I have always had higher energy levels as the day goes on and it is hard to settle down at night, but it is equally hard to get up early. Now at least I know it is part of who I am and not a character flaw.
I do have a higher than average IQ and I am a problem solver. My education is in finance. I have always tried to change from being a night owl to a lark, but without success. Now I see why.
Thanks,

Seriously? You ask why I made this choice? Because I'm a NIGHT PERSON!!! I have been tormented all my life by idiot morning people who are so stupid and clueless that they think I'm lazy when really I'm trying to function on 3 hours of sleep for months on end. The morning people should all be tortured the way we night people have been for centuries then they might understand.
