Sony has allways been putting a lot of effort into quality products, never marketing cheaper TV's or other electronics just to get market share. For example, look at the cheapest and most basic VAIO laptop and you cand see it's very well built with only quality materials.
On the other hand, Samsung has a lot of products but only the 5% percent of those are true quality ones. Not to mention Sony's hiotory as an inventor and Samsung's known love for imitation.
In my opinion, Sony remains the Mercedes of electronics while Samsung is Hyundai whit lots of colours to choose from.

SONY televisions of any type, have always had a superior picture to their competitors since day dot. In the price range, no other television manufacturers have surpassed the picture quality; and reliability, not even at any price point. Sure you can buy a LOEWE or METZ; and pay 3 times as much as a SONY, soon to ONLY discover that the best value for money televisions are still SONY, With rapidly changing technology, why would any sensible person pay 3 times as much for other brands? Especially for the money, no other manufacturer surpasses SONY for picture quality, reliability and value for money. Why not choose SONY televisions, and why pay more for other brands that are already OBSOLETE BEFORE THEY ARE EVEN SOLD,and which CAST AN ABSOLUTE FORTUNE TO REPAIR if something does go wrong? Remember Murphy's Law?
Samsung TV just give us the fake color on its screen...
