Spielberg has made masterpieces, Cameron simply makes eye candy
Both are equal in using visual effects to make their imagination perfect, but steve is ahead of making drama and human element from it.
I think in the last it only counts to remember any movie.

Well I have always been a fan of spielbergs masterpieces, and i do say masterpices. I do respect Camerin, he makes amazing films such as Terminator, Titanic and Avatar, but Steven has created more classics and classics that will forver stay as american culture.

I think Steven Spielberg is better because he has delivered great movies that I have watched over many times like war of the worlds, jurrasic park, E.T. and so on. One of my favorites from him was war of the worlds. I like James Camerons Titanic, Aliens and AVATAR but I still prefer Steven spielberg.

The list of critically acclaimed and box office champions he's been involved with is simply astounding and though Avatar might look great it's ultimately a very mediocre movie, so is Titanic for that matter!
He makes movies to entertain people, not just to share an overbearing liberal message throughout.

Steven Spielberg has made Schindler's List
They are both extraordinary directors. They are masters and have made superb movies. However, Spielberg has mastered the position of a director which is able to make and direct all types of genres, whereas Cameron is more conservative of his own types of films. Steve Spielberg Rocks!!!!!!

Steven spielberg has more range. I beleive his characters, leads have more, personality, humour and are more endearing for the fact. James Cameron on the other hand makes great drama, and tells a great epic, where the characters mesh into the story. They don't stand out to me, but blend into the action. If you are an actor, you prefer acting for Spielberg. I don't think Cameron wants his actors to be above the movie. Avatar is a good case in point. you fall in love with visuals, the action, the drama, the story. Cameron is an amazing movie maker, with talents in all areas including editing; however I think that he he is so serious about his craft, he doesn't allow many smiles. Spielbergs movies, has more lovable, funny, interesting leads. Both are great directors in their own right. its like comparing Roger Federer and Rafal Nadal. if you've read my words, you'll know who's who.

i feel he is more generous than cameroon is..
He can create a film that appeals to any audience. Sure, he has made mistakes (Hook, Kingdom of the Crystal Skull etc) and is sometimes thought to be sentimental, but he is an experienced, talented director who can visualise what a film will look like to the audience.

This man made so many films only two out of all those became a flop. He my #1 reason why i want to be a Film maker and I hope one day I can work with one of the most Genious Directors ever.
Not even a competition. Spielberg all the way. Not only did spielberg direct and produce some of the best moves, as did cameron, but he revolutionizes a genre to the fullest almost every time, (war-private ryan; drama-munich, schindler's list; scifi-et, close encounters, war of the worlds, minority report; action-indiana jones;etc...) Cameron only has a select few great moveis: terminater 1 and 2, and aliens. Avatar, abyss, and true lies are pretty good, but not amazing or great and titanic can suck mine...
