I enjoy a lot while listening CM rather than Hindustani.
I am a South Indian, and I am a orthodox person. While hindustani music is good, it is too emotional and unstructured for me
I like Carnatic Music which has more understandable and singable tones.
Hindustani Music - all songs I mean movie songs sound same in most cases.

Because it is unique and not like Hindustani. And to learn Carnatic music you should all south language and Sanskrit too without it you cannot perform Carnatic music. And moreover it all about based on our god not about some people are nature.

It is more complex and hence appealing to me!!!.......LOL!...But I do like Hindustani Music too (perhaps equally. On monday I might like carnatic and on tuesday it could be hindustani.....cos I listen to both on a regular basis)

I LOVE CARNATIC MUSIC BECAUSE I AM TAMIL SO I UNDERSTAND MOST OF THE STUFF AND I ENJOY LEARNING CARNATIC MUSIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Carnatic music is a Ocean and Hindustani music is like a river....
i think there are more scales used in it...so there are much more possibilities... carnatic - jazz, hindustani - western classical...period
