None of the actors in HSM are actually truly talented like those of Glee because it's all autotune, Glee focuses on more adult real-life and relatable circumstances, HSM is for babies and Glee is for those of us who are ready to grow up

More emotion when it comes to breakups, loads of iconic songs as well as original songs. Consideration of the LGBT community. Both have the main couples Troy and Gabriella, Rachel and Finn. But Glee not only shows a group of misfits singing together but they are having fun. Glee definitely has a lot of humour and the songs make sense as how they are performed in each episode as it's connected to the story and how the performer(s) is/are feeling during the number.
(Non of these points slats HSM but Glee is my personal favourite)

Glee is the very same story of how my high school.. it's so realistic and beautiful, not just some stupid singing about love, but there's also sorrowness.. Glee is full of the beauty of life and the ugly side of life.

Glee has shown people that being part of something special makes you special. It deals with real life problems that teens face everyday.
dont get me wrong i love both but overall glee captures the emotion and reality of any regular high school student popular or not so much. real life issues like sexuality and teen romance, most songs are covers of the most popular songs throughout the years but they make it feel as if its something fresh and new and not like a cover of the exact song but also a twist of what glee is really about.

I'm in my 30's, and Glee makes me feel like I'm in high school again; while HSM makes me feel like I'm trying on a pair of shoes that used to fit but are too tight on me.

i like both but i prefer to choose GLEE because its very interesting and the characters are so attractive,that you can enjoy watching it! :)

Because the cover songs so you know and you can sing along and theres sometimes like 7 songs in an episode and the do a show each week and it isnt just bursting into song like that, also glee is more of a normal highscool while hsm is just singing and dancing and there always happy which isnt in real life.

high school musical sucks glee has more than that
In Glee they don't just randomly burst into song but they have a reason for it. The plot is much better and though not the best ever it is not as predictable as HSM eg. Nobody could have predicted that Kurt would be Prom Queen. The actors (in my opinion) and much more talented and some incredble singing goes on there. Altogether Glee is better and me (being a Glee fan) think it one of the best shows out there.

Glee has more songs, that are more energetic and breath taking. Plus high school musical is so predictable.
HMS is so specific, no one can relate to those characters, plus their voices aren't as good. Then again this is my opinion as a 13-year-old. Ask a 5-year-old and they'll say HMS, probably never even hearing of glee. But glee is better.
