I have owned both. Was a die-hard Bose fan for many years, then bought an Onkyo THX HTiB. I will NEVER go back. Difference is like night and day. The sound quality, detail, range, impact of Onkyo makes the Bose look like a cheap boombox.
Bose = $300 system for $4000.
Onkyo = $4000 system for $1200.
I'm not an electronics major but with onkyo I just seem to feel the sound, with bose I hear the sound clearer but no feeling
T
Because Onkyo has larger speakers, which creates better vibrational sound!
Bose sound quality may be good, but ultimately not better than any of its competitors. However, the price tag is a big difference. Which leads me to beleive they have suckered their clients into beleiving its better. And one must be a fool to fall for it.
itĀ“s cheaper than bose y the sound quality is better

I follow what my ears hear not what the people say :} and for that Bose is not as good as Onkyo. In bose you pay for the logo, in Onkyo you pay for the Quality Sounds.
Onkyo has wider range and its really good and value for money
They provide more options for connectivity and sound settings at very less price. Bose is overly priced for its features.
Sound is pure
It just sounds better.
Advantage Onkyo main resoan why is that I can use any speakers that I want with it as the amps are full range and not just bandwith limited with a sub like bose are. Try runing a 20 hz signal through a bose sat speaker
bose is using LDF(Low Definition Fibre) for making of Speaker covering, and Onkyo is using MDF(Medium Definition Fibre) for making Speaker Covering,so that while we are putting more sound MDF will support for with our noise.
Balances sound with no mini speakers
I have onkyo and it rocks
