Because from young kid, it was trader joes and costco. Whole foods was alway considered expensive place. If we wanted to get local foods, we had better options. Just wish there was TJ in Hawaii

Trader Joe's is a convenient place to shop which is close to my neighborhood. They carry a large variety of foods, wines, organic produce, and flowers. Customers feel at home there. The staff is always available to assist or answer questions. The nearest Whole Foods store is more than 30 miles from my neighborhood. Much too far for me to do my weekly shopping.

prices are decidedly better at TJ. Their staff is ALWAYS there to help, answer question, and locate the merchandize. Whole Foods has a very poor staff quality for a store that contains a huge selection of merchandise. As persons who just changed their lifestyle, we find TJ as an enormously indispensable place for me and my wife. We missed it a lot when we were living in Honolulu.

It purchases directly from supplier as much as possible, which keeps cost low that can be passed on to customers. Sometimes too much of selection or choice can be overwhelming. By havin a more homely feel and smaller variety of items to choose from, their shopping experience is more enjoyable.

Just a better store plain and simple. Trader Joes boxes everything in Chicago and sends it out to there stores while wholefoods 90% is made in store.

Wholefoods is amazing!!! And is a product of the USA!! Trader Joes is German owned. Wholefoods has a much better selection across the board. I was once a fan of Trader Joe's, but due to lack of customer service, and finding it was not American, I made the switch.

it is the number one organic seller in the united states
