Because I like Greek mythology better. Romans suck. The renamed the gods and goddesses and got all wrong what the gods and goddesses were gods and goddesses of.

Probably for no other reason than the names of the Gods don't match the names of our planets which could confuse some people, especially children. I think there is just (in general) more known about the Greek Gods versus the Roman Gods. Except one mistake that's always made. Herackles is the GREEK name and Hurcules is the Roman name for this Demi-God but he is almost ALWAYS called by his Roman name of Hurcules even when the rest of the Gods are protrayed with the Greek names in movies. Just a little known fact....

its original. Even the R%oman Gods are based off of Greek Gods. Long Live Zues!!!

I chose the Greek gods based on the fact that all the most popular mythical movies are base on the Greek gods,i.e., Percy Jackson,Clash of the Titans,Clash of the Titans 2 ,as well as cartoons such as Hercules.

Because more movies speak in the greek names

Cause i knew more about the greek gods then any of the roman gods. For example, Athena, Zeus, Hera, Poseidon, Hades, etc. People use those names when talking about gods and goddesses then Pluto, Jupiter, Neptune. Those names are mostley used just when talking about the planets...or ex-planets in poor Pluto/Hades's case

You have movies like Percy Jackson, Clash of the titans, tv show Class of the titans, and many more (Aphrodite is even mentioned in Mamma Mia). More movies use the Greek gods over Roman gods because the Romans just copied the greeks.

Greek Mythology is the basis for all mythologies. It is from this faucet of beliefs that we have come to see the characater of the all powerful god, Zeus. Pop culture has taken a large liking to Greek Mythology in the last several years. The remake of "Clash of the Titans" and "Percy Jackson" both are based off of or take characters from prominent Greek Mythology.

In Greek mythology the Gods have a home in Mount Olympos which is where the ancient Olympics were held, the Olympic flame is stolen from Zeus' thunderbolt. The Gods had human forms and some were half human, they just seem to be more relatable to in modern times than any Roman God and besides they were just stolen from the Greeks and renamed.

It is more interesting to hear about greek mythology because it is the root of roman mythology. They have exactly the same myths but just with different names and personalotys.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
