Thinking Leader - 1
Thinking leader generates participation from others and fosters ownership of the assignment/task by many in the group which I believe develops a healthier and more stable organization.
However, if you have a declining organization then a take charge controlling leader is needed for awhile. But when the organization becomes stable, then the organization should transition to a thinking leader and the controlling leader should leave.
Again, however, if the organization or group has transient members then a charismatic leader is able to enfold the members quickly in to the group and produce a productive result for their stated mission.
