Nicer beaches in the Bahamas but both are beautiful
Because there is a lot more light there ps the ocean is more pretty.
Thinking about relocating from southern California and prefer being closer to the mainland and the great number of islands in the area compared to only 6 or so in the Hawaiian island chain. Since I have never been on an island, I am clueless; however, I am still attempting to be objective and gather more comparison data, but your article provided much appreciated insight.

Warmer water, vast and numerous beaches with shallow water.
It was tough, but the beaches won out. calmer warmer waters in general. No mountains, but again the beaches made the difference.
