Difference between Nexus One and iPhone
Cell phones have become a necessity for people everywhere. In the past, only a few people got a hold of one and they were mainly used for business. But now, with new technologies in cell phones even the younger kids have one. Not a long time ago, cell phones were mainly used for calling. Of course the time came when it was redesigned for texting and soon we had different functions like radio, music player, camera and even Internet browsing. The newest technology and the one that people are going crazy about are the smart phones. These phones are designed like little laptops which make certain people do everything they need to do with the use of their phones. Two of these brands, Nexus One and the iPhone, are leaders when it comes to smart phones.
Manufacturers
Google, in cooperation with the HTC Corporation of Taiwan, has developed a smart phone called Nexus One. This phone uses an operating system for mobile which is an open source called Android. Nexus One was released January 5th 2010, and has the capability to convert voice messages to text, has dual microphones with noise canceling feature, and GPS. Apple another manufacturer, markets their multimedia and Internet enabled smart phone as the iPhone. Aside from the iPhone’s function as a camera phone, an iPod video, an Internet explorer with Wi-Fi connection capability, it boasts of its 100,000 and more applications which are used by scores of people in their everyday lives.
Hardware
Nexus One has a camera with a resolution of 5.0 megapixels, autofocus, digital zoom and LED flash. It also has a GPS receiver, Wi-Fi capability, and Bluetooth. The processor of the Nexus One phone, the Snapdragon has state of the art capabilities and it also contains hardware which decodes all types of video, audio and photo. It also has a microSD card slot which can be expanded to 64GB of memory. On the other hand, the iPhone has limited capability with regards to its camera. With only 2.0 megapixels, you can only take still pictures. But the new technology called jailbreaking allows these phones to capture videos as well.
Software
Nexus One has an operating system called Google Android 2.1. New features of this OS include live wallpapers which animates depending on the input of the user. On the other hand, the iPhone runs an operating system called the iPhone OS, which is the same as the Mac OS X.
