Population

Bangalore is the third most populated city in India and is the capital of Karnataka. It had a population of 5.8 million per the 2001 census.

Hyderabad is also quite densely populated but its population is around 4 million. Hyderabad is the capital of Andhra Pradesh and is the most populated city of Andhra Pradesh.

Hyderabad is home to the Telugu film industry whereas Bangalore boasts the Kannada film industry. The Telugu film industry is also called Tollywood and comes second after the largest Mumbai film industry known as Bollywood. Telugu and Kannada are regionally spoken languages in India. Bangalore also is the most rapidly growing metropolis in India whereas Hyderabad only acquires this status of a metropolis together with its nearby suburb of Secunderabad. In fact, both the cities constitute Hyderabad.

Technology

Bangalore has a higher concentration of IT companies in its midst. For this reason it is called the Silicon Valley of India. Hyderabad on the other hand has not been able to establish itself as a big hub for IT industries in comparison to Bangalore, the biggest IT exporter in India.

Bangalore was established in 1024 BC when it was annexed by Cholas. But modern Bangalore came into origin in 1537. The city of Hyderabad is relatively younger as it was founded in 1592.

Culture

Hyderabad has a rich cultural legacy of its own. It’s known as the city of Nizams. Bangalore does not have any such legacy.

Literacy rates

Bangalore has higher literacy rates as compared to Hyderabad. It has the second highest literacy rate in India after the city of Mumbai.

Summary

  • Languages spoken

-The main languages spoken in Hyderabad are Urdu and Telugu. In Bangalore, the main languages are Kannada and English.

  • Cuisines

-Bangalore also does not have cuisines as interesting and delicious as Hyderabad. The tourists can savor dishes like Mughal and Persian in Hyderabad. Bangalore offers tourists Hindu, western and Chinese cuisines.

hyderabad is very bigger than the bangalore.it has the 80 lks population(total greater hyd).but bangalore is not greater.it has only 57 lks population.and one major deffect of bangalore is it has very few subarban areas.so the developement of bangalore will be stopped after few years.but greater hyd having the nuch more metro area.according to this hyderabad is too greatest and largest city than bangalore.

  • Madan Mohan . 3+ yrs. ago

I wonder where you got the comparison data like 80L vs 57L and Bengaluru has few suburbs!!. Check the area of Greater Hyderabad and Bruhat (Greater) Bengaluru from authentic sources, you will understand which is greater. Just the area of the city, metro, more fashionable airport, or Hyderabadi Biryani are not countable to decide a city's value. It must be the Quality of Life of people living in, ease of access, Public Transport, Quality Education, Cost of living, Degree of Corruption in Govt offices in a city should be deiding factor. Also these factors should be gauzed for the different age levels like children, adults and senior citizens.

  • Mohit . 3+ yrs. ago

Talking about Degree of Corruption - Bangalore has been declared as the most corrupt state in India (Reference:TOI).Try getting your vehicle migrated to Bangalore once you move in or indulge in Property Registration and you would understand what i mean.

I have moved to Bangalore twice in the last 6 Years, finally moved out and settled in Hyderabad. On a personal note, i experienced more rowdiness and arrogant behavior in Bangalore whereas people in Hyderabad were much better in terms of their behavior towards people from other states.

  • Vishnu . 3+ yrs. ago

yes even i experienced, hyderabad is better than bangalore

  • akhil . 3+ yrs. ago

Banglore is the city of almighty. criminals cannot live in banglore they will sufur from the problems like u.

  • nani . 3+ yrs. ago

i agree with mohit.. ppl of bangalore cheat they increase the price unnecessarily and call it life style..hello madan mohan lean the history of hyderabad go type hyderabad state in google and see..hyd is not just city it was a state in 1728 we have given u two districts bellary and bidar was once part of hyd.. know that dnt unecessarily blaber things. infact ISRO govt declares that density of suburbs of hyderabad is more than that of bangalore

  • joe . 3+ yrs. ago

The roads in bangalore are a nightmare to drive. and the standard of the airport is not upto the mark

  • Vijay Singh . 3+ yrs. ago

There are pros and cons but Hyderabad is better than Bangalore in terms of everything.

  • bh . 3+ yrs. ago

hello akileshakil n co. let me basically tell u all tht HYd airport is built by our very own Indian company(GMR) n he is from AP ,proud to say tht such an airport from Indian co, Hyderabad international airport has been named amongst the world's top five in the annual Airport Service Quality (ASQ) passenger survey along with the ones at Seoul, Singapore, Hong Kong and Beijing. I agree the fact tht Bng airport bagged award for best airport 2k11 i dono how ?? n considering the fact tht Bng airport was built by siemens(germany).now coming to the main issue BNG n HYD both have pro's and con's as both being Indian cities n i hve been to both the cities.who said BNG weather is good its not the same BNG,tht weather is gone guys it is evenly hot here compared to HYD its ll'bit less thts it. n coming to transport HYD is best bcz govt of AP widens the ROAD if we suffer traffic where as in BNG we observe it to be made one way which is irritating ..n ya BNG is called silicon valley n is justified,HYD also got few electronics&VLSI companies(top elite ones) hiring only highly qualified of-course.

  • nani . 3+ yrs. ago

nice comment bh.. slap their face show our pride

  • nani . 3+ yrs. ago

akileshakil please mind you languange ..yes we do agree we have slums and u should also knw hyd has international airport busiest than bangalore.. more carago capacity than bangalore.. more terminals than bangalore

  • kaleem patale . 3+ yrs. ago

Bengaluru: no landmark, no food, no culture(10 fathers culture),no broad roads, no special qualities in Bengaluru. which is best city?

  • nani . 3+ yrs. ago

100% right bangalore dnt have culture.. no good food

  • nani . 3+ yrs. ago

hey MR. giri know that bangalore is called garden city once now its is know as garbage city..largest slum is in mumbai but it still rocks..coz it respect every kind of people.. we respect the people even in slum or bunglow..grow some humanity.. mothing comes from pub's this comment shows how indecent people are banglooreans

  • akileshakil . 3+ yrs. ago

population of bangalore is 85 lakhs in 2011

population of hyderabad is only 70 lakhs in 2011 even after including secundereabad!

so hyderabad is no match for my bangalore

  • akhil . 3+ yrs. ago

u r true my frnd.Be proud of our bengaluru.

  • nani . 3+ yrs. ago

so what?? is population deciding the factor here ?? half the bangalooreans are corrupted.. bangalore stands first in cities for courruption

Hyderabad has better infrastructure in India. Better Roads, No. 1 Airport. Multi-culture, cosmopolitan. friendly people. Easy to adopt.

  • GL Acharya . 3+ yrs. ago
