Both video and audio transmission saves cables.
Don't know really was hoping this article would tell me the differences I could expect. I just bought a Samsung 27" computer monitor and it's beautiful. I have it connected to a late 2009 MacBook Pro 17" and have it in a Henge MoaBook Pro Video Editing Dock. The henge dock is an awesome product, drop your mac book pro into it and it automatically wakes up connected to you big monitor, big keyboard, fancy mouse, apple track pad, big sound system etc... Apple sells the mini-display to direct HDMI connector for under $30 so and an new MBP comes with the mini-dispplay to SVGA adapter. I am going to buy it just so I can gauge the difference between the HDMI and SVGA out put. When I plugged in my Samsung 27 my Mac knew it was and automatically synched with the max pixel count and highest refresh frequency. First external monitor I have had that is 98% of the quality of the displays made by Apple so I am very happy with my new Samsung 27" monitor. When I get my mini-display to HDMI adapter I will let you know the differences I see.
I dont need to use a bunch of wire, i prefer a digital video signal than analog(clear, crisp)
because i said so.
