Because Dragons had intelligence and was far more than just a hunter - on top of which they could fly and breathe fire. Dinosaurs wouldn't stand a chance. And BTW - EVERY legend has a nugget of truth - and the fire-breathing creature is even described in the Bible.

I beileve dragons have the advantage over dinosourse because they have the ability to fly wich could help the dragon doge attacks and it may also use its advantage to fy inorder to have time to plane good attacks. its fire could also be a big striking advantage for the dragon.
