Because Harry Potter will always be a 100 time better
I like the mysteries and help the characters solve them.
I choose HP because the female characters in it are brave,loyal,trustworthy etc,unlike Twilight,the female characters in it are lazy,weak and always need man to help them,while the HP females try to save their world.
I've heard a lot of spoilers about twilight and it does not look like my kind of book. I am a HUGE Harry Potter fan and my house is Hufflepuff. J. K. Rowling is very creative and came up with tons of handy-dandy wizard gadgets like flying fill-in-the-blanks, time turners, Deathly Hallows, Extendable Ears, Skiving Snackboxes, magical eyes, Mauraders' Maps, the list goes on and on. The characters are soo cool and I felt like Tonks was an older version of me somehow and I was so sad after she went You-know-where, and I also felt close to Luna. In the end, it's a huge, fun adventure that I can't put down. Whereas I don't think I'd want a monster in a story unless it behaves like a monster. No sappy vampire stalkers for me! Or fake "werewolves." Zzzzzzz........
It's more exciting and I can relate to some of the characters and the plot is really interesting and you would have to be like Hermione Granger to figure it out.
Because I cant read twilight without cursing Bella's thoughts each page. While in Harry Potter I cry because awesome people die.
Harry Potter's story line is more enjoyable to a broader audience.
It has A PLOT
I love Harry Potter. HP was my childhood, the themes in the books are so original and thought provoking, and very often, deeper meanings are hidden in the text. When reading Twilight, the only conversations to be had are, "OMG EDWARD IS SO HOT I LUV VAMPIRES FOREVER!", while, when reading Harry Potter, people taking about it will very often say, "Wow, I can't believe the depths to which J.K. Rowling went to, in order to create this magical universe. She has created spells, characters, and places, all of which have very interesting back-stories, and commonly have significance to her own life as well."
Twilight is awful, and will be forgotten in 10 years. Harry Potter is eternal.

I love the Harry potter series! Even though I haven't watched all the movies I've read all the books. And the Harry potter series is made for the whole family I don't think that twilight is appropriate for the younger generation.

For starters: JK Rowling actually knows how to write! The writing style in the Twilight Saga makes me cringe.
Also: Harry Potter has better, more layered characters (especially a lot of strong females), a plot and a message about live I can totally get behind. Twilight is just insulting and mind numbling stupid.

Not only it revived the majority of today's literacy, but it's also well-crafted. Jo Rowling is a terrific writer.

the story of harry potter is 'richer' in the way more confilcts evolved in the story, love the way ms rowling describe about harry potter's world, it's so real for an imaginary world!!
Harry Potter is more interesting than Twilight because its story is very dynamic. I can't stop reading it since there is always a mystery in every page. Then, the story isn't easily guessed. J.K. Rowling is undoubtedly genius!
Harry Potter teaches us that sometimes, when you do the right thing you will be able to survive the seemingly impossible. Twilight teaches us that a girl is nothing without a man.

Twilight is nothing,but the desperate longing between a boy and a girl. Others come no where in the picture. No other relations are properly maintained..no friedns,no family.nothing..

I love twilight the book but the casting and acting in the movies made me angry, while in harry potter both the book and movie held my attention and left me happy for watching it. I will not even watch the rest of the twilight movies.
Both are great awesome series, but in my opinion Harry Potter has more development in it.
Because of so many reasons, I just can't name them all. But one of my top resons is very sentimental to me. JKR's Harry Potter introduced me to a world of reading and writing. I was always smart, but in first grade when I picked up that book I went through a gate that enhanced my love of knowledge, writing and most of all- reading! Without it, who knows what I'd be doing now?
