i love Bravia for its color.
I am own Sony KDL 42 W 655A . This is TV with refresh 200Hz. I can watch also TV on Samsung UE39 F5300. This is two different TV Models , but I am sure that Sony vs Samsung is exactly like Ferrari vs Ford Mondeo.
I think that the best tv is that has a better picture quality, the f800 has an excelent smart tv but if you look a tv with better colors and good black levels, not better than a plasma but they are better, the sony w900a is your option

I have owned both and Samsung at the time of this design cannot compete in black level, and color saturation. I have a 2012 Samsung, it is never going to look anywhere as good as my 2011 Sony. Samsung is stripping out everything, from limited HDMI, limited Component/composite,forget about anything else or even a decent headphone jack or any audio out.
Two Samsung TV's failed within 5 months, see the quantity, not quality push here. You don't even want to deal with Samsung's most inefficient incompetent repair services. The worst customer experience I have ever had. If it works without failure your lucky. If you need to get a Samsung repaired properly, good luck.

What is a Samsung if not a high quality knock-off Sony product? Not to mention that the Sony produces more and deeper colors, and is totally capable of distinguishing between the colors Red and Orange, whereas a Samsung will portray both colors as a red-orange combination color. Less LED bleed on the Sony, better native contrast ration, infinite dynamic contrast ratio. And Sony is very likely to exceed a decade for its lifespan whereas the Samsung will need to be replaced in 3 years.
They last longer, better color representation, wider color gamut, less LED bleed, better HD streaming options, can produce orange and red in the same scene and not a red-orange to be used for both colors. Deeper colors, longer lasting panels, better customer service, better tech support. Overall better in just every which way!

I install both brands. And there's pros and cons for both. The Samsung has a far better design with the thin bezel. Sonys design team are as behind as their marketing team. However the user interface on the Sony is far better. And it's little things like when you select the av inputs you only need to press one button. With the Samsung you need to use 2. The av button and the select button.(very annoying).
Build quality of the Sony is far better, hence the big difference in weight. however when it comes to price point Samsung is better bang for buck.

Sony delivers real colors and their technology is much more advanced than Samsung, as we can see with less power consumption and truer picture quality. When looking at Samsung tvs, I notice very bright and unrealistic colors with a unrealistic picture. I think the overly bright pictures are to confuse consumers into believing that brighter colors = better picture. Though I think Sony could develop a better external design.
I have recently added the KDL-46HX923 to my home cinema setup and it is a seriously good quality TV, yeah the browser needs work, as do the widgets and app's, but that will come, patience is lost these days, appreciate the TV for what it is, the other bits are added extras and they work either way. It does what it says on the box..

Sony has always been innovating, I do not find this amongst companies like LG and Samsung, in the latest CES people are raving about the OLED TVs created by LG, but seem to forget that Sony developed that technology more than 5 years ago and released the first OLED TV.
Anyways, with Sony I feel I get a realer, richer and clearer picture, while the Samsung TVs have annoying very bright colors that seem unnatural and tacky, most Samsung products I have interacted with are disappointments, they can only seem to copy design, rather than innovating actual technology

Sony relay on a good electronics components , while Samsung use a cheap rubbish ones only good for 3 years or so, too many problems with Samsung like power supply cap's , soldering ( lead free) causes ribbons and cables to detach , tcon boards, as I said they work very good but for a short time only, customer support and service are rubbish too , they aware of common problems with their product but they never do anything about it, millions of customers worldwide faces with horizontal and vertical lines on the screen, and clicking noise when turn on/off due to the bad quality Samsung use, Don't buy Samsung if you want a TV to last for more then 3 years.

I´m not sure of my answer, but actually I have bought a new LED TV BRAVIA SONY, I am a little confused.
The reason behind Sony is the compney is been in the electronics market from a long long time and Samsung is a new in the technology bussiness. As far as I heard from our friends and relatives that samsung TV's dead early. They don't last longer then any other TV.

There was a yellowish color mix when I was checking samsung. Sony felt the colors were very real.

Sony has many capabilities although they do not advertise their product well and the product just work.
Samsung in reality comes with no warranty despite they say support it for a year or two but they dont repair your device perfectly.
I really, really want to buy the new Samsung D8000, however after reading online reviews for the past three hours I can't get past the consistent and fundamentally worrying reports that the Samsung D8000 suffers from poor screen uniformity, brightness variation and banding.
Weather this is a clever "bad PR" from SONY and/or the reviews from CNET, Review-tvs have a particular bias... I really liked the demo video of the D8000 from CES 2011... and I'd really wish that all these bad reports were not true as the Samsung TV's aesthetically look brilliant !!
If there is "someone" out there that can dispel or disprove all these reviews or if Samsung has "a fix" for this issue.... PLEASE post this info soon as I'll be researching till mid-December but at this stage it looks like I'll be going with the Bravia (KDL-55HX925)

The Sony Bravia LED TV just catches your attention, the picture quality is second to none. I really like the high contrast and color the this tv troughs out. I have a Samsung TV, the Samsung tv is reliable in terms of hardware but is lacks contrast and color but this is just my observation I might be wrong.
I am going to change my tele soon to Sony Bravia LED "40" just love the look and picture.
