They over leverage themselves and there is little if any regulation to provide risk oversight. They are closer
to gambling, playing the odds than they are investing.

Also, hedge funds use their aggressive trading strategies to manipulate asset prices and the overall market. Hedge funds now represent 30% of the NYSE volume of trading on a daily basis. Yet, the government is just now beginning to register them. Even after the Dodd-Frank Reform Act, hedge funds still will not have real government oversight of their trading strategies. Hedge fund managers can get away with murder in the market and no one can prove it because they do not have to release the details of their market transactions. It is ridiculous
