The company was established in 1977 by Mark and Jerry Silverman, both of whom sold their interests in the company in 1991. Hollister Co. is a brand marketed by the Abercrombie & Fitch Company. Aeropostale’s product line consists of shirts, jeans, underwear, swimwear and accessories. The company also has a brand called P.S., which mainly offers children’s wear. American Eagle’s product line caters mainly to the teen and young adult markets, and it consists of jeans, polo shirts, T-shirts underwear, and swimwear. Hollister for its part has a product line that consist mainly of (but is not limited to) T-shirts, polos, shirts, outerwear, jeans, flip flops, underwear, and fragrances. The company also offers a line of personal care products such as deodorants, antiperspirants, and body sprays, lotions, and lip glosses, among others. The company is in fact the only Abercrombie & Fitch Co. store to offer such products, which it does so under the "Sessions" line.
Stores
The first Aeropostale store was launched in New York City in 1987. The company’s web store in turn was launched in 2005. The company's first Canadian store was opened on August 3, 2007 in Ontario. The company also has stores in the Plaza Carolina, the Plaza Las Américas and Prime Outlets in Puerto Rico, and in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates. The first American Eagle store outside the United States was opened in Canada, and the first store outside North America was opened in 2003. The company also opened stores in Kuwait and Dubai in 2010, with stores in Asia planned soon. Hollister’s first flagship store was launched on July 16, 2009 in SoHo, New York City, with another store planned for 2010 on Fifth Avenue.
