Difference between Saturday Night Live and Mad TV
Television entertainment has gone a long way from where it was the first time networks aired entertainment programs. The categories with which these programs are in have also evolved. From normal television series, specials, movies to documentaries. A popular category that draws lots of viewers today is comedy, especially sketch comedy as they convert things or events that occur in our everyday life to something more amusing and fun. Seeing how something so serious is turned into a laughing matter can ease the tension or stress everyday life presents you.
What is Sketch Comedy?
Sketch comedy is presented much differently from other comedy series’. With a normal comedy series, you have a specific cast that act out an episode for about thirty minutes to a maximum of an hour depending on how their producers want the story to be run. With sketch comedy, you have a bunch of people reenacting various events or situations you see on the news, movies and tv shows today in a manner that is amusing or funny. Each skit will be run for about three to a maximum of ten minutes. The main purpose of dramatizing recognizable events is to ease up the pressure that viewers experiences on a day to day basis plus being able to produce a couple of laughs here and there. After all, laughter is the best medicine.
