When they have sales on same products, shoprite wins almost every time. They have a little less selection but the prices are better. I love thecoupon specials

Shoprite prices are lower and they have many more specials than Stop and Shop

I have done some comparison shopping in Shoprite and Stop and Shop. Stop and Shop had great prices in the beginning, but I left there several times with just a few items and thought the same items would be less at Shoprite. Stop and Shop have all these buy 1 and get one free thing going...but some of their prices on foods and staples are ridiculous...I like the cleanliness - but I need to save money these days. They also need to update their brands in organics, etc. Ex: the organic butter and other items...just a few choices. The store is clean, and let's not even talk about their timely check out handle...that really ticked me off.

Although I have read the information given above, I would have to refer back to my experience in the ShopRite of White Plains. The store is VERY spacious and they have a plethora of items to choose from in almost every department...sometimes too many to choose from which may lend it's self to a problem, but at least they can say that they have the product for any and all of the clintale. The customer service desk is also very helpful. They knew exactly where I could find the items that I had been looking for, as well as the associates that helped me while I was in the aisle. I was impressed at how many people stopped to ask me if I was finding everything ok or if I needed help.

All in all, I loved my experience at ShopRite and I will continue to give them my business!!

I have shopped both stores, over all prices seemed to be lower at Shoprite. Although Stop&Shop will have good sales, they are generally designed to get you in their store. Their focus seems to be on mostly major brands, which are usually higher in price.

When possible I like to purchse a store brand Item and shop rite usually has that option available.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago

ShopRite generally lower priced items with additional sales on top of that. Stop and Shop might have sales, but usually makes you purchase more than one of the item in order to receive the sale price.

Hello
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Overall, ShopRite seems to have better prices. Since ShopRite is a cooperative, though, each member can set its own prices, and I've found that out of all the members in my area, Glass Gardens is by far -- by FAR -- the lowest.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Better overall quality, prices and products in Southern Connecticut. Can't say for other areas.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
I've been to both and I feel that shop rite has the lower prices, no question.

I've compared many day to day items and Shop Rite almost always comes up cheaper. However, Stop and Shop's bakery and overall store cleanliness is much better.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
I always try to choose store brand items as they fit my budget. On occassion i buy different if there is a sale.

I Prefer ShopRite Especially In Brookfield
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Shop Rite has way beter prices than Stop and Shop. Stop and Shop employees are rude, they will cut you off and walk right in front of your cart. Can't stand that. Thier meats are way over priced and quite frankly, Shop Rite has very unique items not found at Stop and Shop.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
The prices are reasonable compared to Stop n Shop. Meats fresher etc
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Our local Shoprite just moved from it old location approximately 1 mile east from the previous site. New Building (Built from scratch) must be three times what the old one was. The transformation is like night and day. Since both Supermarkets are within the same driving distance … We no longer go to Stop & Shop. However we are STILL WAITING for WEGMAN's to arrive …

shoprite has better price and quality of meat and bakery

most stop and shops dont have butcher the meat comes in frozen, along with frozen cakes for bakery that they just thaw out.

Well, I like shoprite only because of their prices. But they have some dirty stores, crowed isles, some mislabeled prices on products and the harder to find products.

I regret saying stop and shop. They have a new robot called Marty and he well he is kinda weird so I think shoprites WAY better.

I selected Stop&Shop because I keep saving even after I leave the store. Examples are the Gas Rewards program which allows me to save on the price per gallon of gas at Shell, and the A+ school rewards program which donates money to the school of my choice.

Its more family felt
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
I've shopped at both stores for years and Shop Rite has some items at a lower price, but Stop & Shop has lower prices overall.

I find that Stop and Shop has the food items I regularly purchase to be on sale; while ShopRite may have some great sale prices on a few items to lure customers in. I also like that Stop and Shop gives a discount on Shell gas. I have at times had as much as 70 cents off a gallon of gas.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Many of the items I buy a Stop and Shop are priced lower than Shoprite. Other items are about the same price. I like their clean stores and friendly customer service. What more could you want.

As a new vegan eater, I have gotten my start shopping for both my groceries at my local shop rite and a more distant stop and shop. Shop rite was definitely less organized in product and customer service. The employees seem to not have knowledge of where I could find product or gave bad directions to help me find product. When I did my shopping at stop and shop, I enjoyed being in the grocery store environment, because the employees knew where to direct me, where I found with such organization little direction was needed. I found quality products placed neatly especially took notice of this in frozen food sections. To top it all off I only spent 15$ in Stop and Shop for my groceries in comparison to spending almost double in Shop Rite! Stop and Shop is the go to compared to Shop Rite, as of now anyway.

It is because although the prices are a bit higher, they are like a few cents more. Also, it offers sales and discounts frequently. It has generously sized stores. The stores are very clean. And customer service is friendly and helpful.
