VH1 was available for those that didn't have cable. The video DJ's were more down to earth, and could relate to the times. MTV was flashy and had more commercials than VH1

They always were better and they will , also they put more emphasis on oldies , they have a channel cLled vh1 classic.
It airs more music videos than MTV even though vh1 stopped playing music videos
Because unlike MTV it still plays music instead of getting crappy spin off channels to do it like mtv2 mtvu MTV hits MTV jams (known as bet jams now).

VH1 is the best, mtv is just for teens who likes to listen to **** music, unlike VH1 whos airing normal 80s,90s music
