bcoz we all know the sunlight reached to us in second which is about 91 million km. from earth.
but we can't hear the voice of anything after some distance.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
because the speed of sound is just much fatser and tha answer was just found...:)
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
because light moves faster than soun d because sounds can have slow beats
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
because when you see lightning you always see it before you hear it

Because when compared to a constant light is 870,000 times faster than sound, and because it would be impossible for sound to be high enough in altitude to match the speed of light without being out of earths atmosphere.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
because we're not stupid!!!

Speed of light is faster since light particles or light waves can travel through vacuum and it doesn't need a medium to transfer or travel so it can move fast while sound waves still need medium to travel. And also, light is mechanical wave while sound is transverse.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
light travels at a speed of 300,000km/sec whereas sound travels at a speed of 300m/sec which is much slower than the speed of light.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Its value is measured at 299,792,458 meters per second.
sound is measured at 343.2 meters per second
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Duh! Within the standard medium, the speed of light is 873521 times the speed of sound.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
because when we go away from the source of sound it seems slow but light is not like this.

The "c" is approximately 1,000 times faster the sound.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Because it makes sense
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Because the difference in relative speeds expressed above indicate light moves roughly one million times faster than sound.

Numbers never lie. The speed of light is so fast that it is impossible for the sound to "catch up." The speed of light is constant, but speed of sound, or Mach 1, can be altered, changed, and can be utilized in modern aerodynamics, but the speed of light cannot be achieved for that particular use.
When Mach 1 is attained, the sound barrier is broken and a sonic boom is the result. Sonic booms could seriously damage the human ear and body, and even cause damage to the environment around you since sound waves can "break things apart." It's like an unstoppable force of energy destroying a city in a matter of seconds.
Reaching the speed of light, or C, in theoretical terms, could be instant time travel to the future, especially if you are in a vehicle which can resist the side effects of going at such a speed. However, this amazing feat is only achieved in works of fiction, and not in real life. At least that's as far as we know...

Light is energy that can travel in a vacuum... Sound requires matter to travel... And is slower because it travel by vibrations...

LET ME GIVE THE EXAMPLE OF LIGHTNING......................WE CAN SEE THE FLASH OF LIGHTNING EARLIER THAN WE CAN HEAR THE SOUND OF IT.............
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Speed goes faster at 3 x 10e8 metres per second whereas sound goes at roughly 350 metres per second and depends on altitude and temperature among other things.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Sound consists of longitudinal waves whereas light consists of transverse waves as such sound needs a material to travel, light can actually move in a vacuum.

as we know that sound travels more slower (about 330 m/s)than light(which travels at a speed of 3 lakh kilometer
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Duhh
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Light travels at almost 300,000,000 m/s and sound only travels at 340 m/s.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
because speed of light travel at 299,792,458 meters per second vs speed of sound travel only 343.2 meters per second.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Its faster
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Because light travels through a vacuum. Whereas sound needs a medium to travel through.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
it can travel 299,792,458 meters per second compared to 343.2 meters per second for speed of sound. MNot even close.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Because everyone knows that
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
because light is more energetic than sound
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
because light of speed is instant

  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
It's a secret. "C" you later...
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
light travels 300,000 kilometers per second

sound travels 1 kilometer every 3 seconds

The speed of light has a higher frequency, meaning it can travel much faster compared to the speed of sound, which has a longer wavelength
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
I don't give a ****
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
I'm guessing . I think so .
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
because the speed of light travels at about 300,000 k / second and the speed of sound 300m / second.

there is more metres measured than speed ofsound which means it travels quicker and faster.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Light is an matter of electromagnetic matter which the electrons travels its maximum speed around 299792456 m/sec
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Speed of light travels 299,792458 meters per second while speed of sound travels 343.2 per second
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
The reason why I chose this is because the speed of light is about 300 million meters per second and the speed of sound is 343.2 meters per second and so the speed of light is faster.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Because it said 299,792,458 meters per second. 343.2 meters per second? Yeah, it's faster.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Because Light is thunder and thunder is faster than sound. When there is a storm you see the thunder before you hear t.You don't know that you can see the fireworks before hearing them, that is because light is so fast.
