Grammar is 3 times more complicated than chinese in writing (but to speak , it's way easier!). Japanese uses lots of chinese characters and they mix traditional and japanese simplified characters so it is more difficult to write the character itself than simplified chinese used in mainland china.

Depends, traditional chinese is harder to write than simplified chinese and japanese kanji but to pronounce it, japanese is way harder because japanese kanji have more than 2 prounciations for most.

Chinese writing is more untamed than the Japanese structure of words. Japanese has more rectangular shapes and Chinese has more loops and unusual complex structures which are more common with older texts.
