Corel is a Swiss army knife of a tool. I used CorelDraw 7, 9 and 12 before using Adobe CS. I then moved over to Adobe CS from CS to CS4. I stopped using Adobe when CC was announced.

I now find CorelDraw X6 and now X7 the match of Illustrator (better at some things, worse in other areas) AND capable of doing a lot of InDesign tasks due to much better text and image frame handling.

Not to mention the fact you get PhotoPaint to handle the tasks otherwise handled by Photoshop.

Corel seems to be more straightforward to use to me. This is exactly the reason I purchased Corel after using trial versions of both.

I have used both and find Corel easier to use.

The tools in CorelDraw are more logically laid out than in Adobe Illustrator. Also, CD is much easier and straightforward to use when creating multi-paged documents. Far better than Illustrator's artboards.

I have both Suites installed, and use both regularly. Why both? Well, each one has some things that are easier than the other; but neither can do 'everything' better than the other. I've gotten to the point where anything I want to do in one I can also do in the other; but I find that generally, Corel is quicker for getting the job done so I can move on to the next task.

Far better menu system and can do what it says ! Adobe is better at marketing then Corel . Corel can do the same and more and at a far better price ! What more needs to be said .
Except ,Adobe has magazines and Corel do not in the UK , giving the hype that Adobe is better ? Shame on Corel ,as a few well put together magazines word work magic for Corel !
So think about it Corel , great program ,sad marketing

I worked in Corel Draw since version 5,
Illustrator interface is so strange to me.
Too many complications in Illustrator.

I wish I could, but I just say that the Corel's interface is more... easy, and everything is faster... AI is like too heavy and is more complicated to perform certain tasks.. I mean, Corel is one click...

Thanks

MOre intuitive interface. Real-time rendering while adjusting effects parameters.
Instead of keyboard commands, you can move a slider and watch the effect as you adjust it.
