Autism is generally first discovered in the early childhood years and has quite noteable systoms assoicated with the disorder. There are also methods to reduce the disease's negative effects on the victim of the disorder. Moreover the disorder could possibly be detected even before the child begin to start a formal academice program.

Aspergers is a much higher functioning form of ASD. As a rule, Aspergers children communicate and this may not be true of children with Autism. Communication itself makes Aspergers much easier to manage in early years. In addition, many children with Aspergers are not diagnosed until around age 7 because it is harder to identify in children that are not yet social. When children become increasilgly social (around the time they enter school) a marked difference starts to appear between a child with Aspergers and their typically developing peers. Autism is often noticeable at a much younger age and may include many difficult behaviors/traits. Many of these behaviors make Autism very hard to manage in early years. These behaviors/traits may be less severe or nonexistent with Aspergers. .
