It is just fun!
It is simply the City.
It has a lot of museums (of all kinds), theaters, a great mix of all kinds of old and new buildings not to mention the Skyline, and great walking areas in lower and middle Manhattan. And on a clear winter night, the City lights up like a Christmas tree.

Wonderful Exciting city. London is way way down NYC in every aspects. NY vs Paris would have been more comparable...
