Never used TiVo but would rather have option of retaining state-of-the-art equipment with a service provider vs. buying a TiVo.
I like the idea that I can rewind a program as it's recording when I can't with Tivo. Sometimes you can't just sit a watch you have to juggle your time. DVR's may be a monthly fee but it's harder to come out of pocket for a good Tivo set. The only upside to tivo for me is being able to record a program after it's aired
On Demand is huuuuuuuge! Tivo doesnt support On Demand for most cable services
The money spent overtime is less
if either breaks - chances are -lost video, but I just call the cable provider and i get a FREE replacement, not BUY another tivo. Lower costs for very similar stuff... sorry.
