It's easy for me because it's like "step back and front now switch" and Tango is like " T A N G O(back, back, back, side step)

It's not as difficult because you aren't required to have a partner. Therefore, you can focus only on yourself as opposed to "feeling" your partner while dancing the tango.

I am taking classes in both and in my view, Salsa is much easier to learn than tango (Argentine variety).many reasons for this :
1. Salsa is more structured than tango. Tango is improvised. There are no basic steps really..this means tango really exercises your creativity, spontaneous ability to think on your feet, adaptability etc..more so than salsa
2. Salsa is at a distance between partners. So if you make a mistake, who cares and it's easier to hide mistakes and recover from them. In tango, because you both are close physically..this is tougher. Really takes a lot more synchronised between partners in tango. Not easy to get to this state.
3. Most important reason why tango is harder: the connection, intensity etc between the partners is very difficult to get but necessary for a mind blowing dance. This connection is not nearly as intense nor really necessary in salsa to make it look good. Tango is about feelings not how it looks.
In saying all that, if you can get tango right ( don't have to be an expert), the connection, sensuality, intimacy are all second to none. This is why you dance tango.if you want to show off to the crowd and look good with flashy moves, pick salsa

Because salsa is very energetic and my batteries are never down so I prefer salsa. We can dance on our own without a partner and we do not need to learn steps. The music is very high and fast. We just need to clap hands, move around while twirling and just keep smiling. It's lot of fun and that helps me from stressing about what if I miss one or two steps instead of tango. But I don't mean that tango is not good. It's very emotional when u dance in it and it's really beautiful to see two couple in love dancing together;)So now it's your choice to see if u prefer tango or salsa.

because it is a happy and rocking music and it can be learn easily whereas tango is a very depressing and sad music which will be difficult to learn

coz in salsa we turn into one soul with our partner , feel every single breath of our partner , dance in very high pitched with him and feel that their is no one except us in the ballroom

Love the rhythm of bongo beat. A great way to meet new people, feel smart, elegant, ****, lift self-esteem and self-security and most of all, improves your body posture, toning the arms, waist, buttocks, and legs. Love it!

Salsa is easier to learn because it isn't so complex and fluid, but tango seems like a more passionate dance form that allows for more creative expression and intimacy.

Tango is not a very popular dance such as salsa. Tango is much more intimate and the steps are more intense and flow according to the emotions of the dancers. You must know the origins and culture surrounding the tango in order to demonstrate mastery of the dance.

The salsa, in my opinion, is easier to learn because as long as you have a basis of the "legal" moves you can put your own spin on them and make it your own. The tango, on the other hand, has to be learned perfectly in order to know how to dance it correctly, The salsa is more social, upbeat and fast.

because you can do it alone and make up your own dance steps.

1. the photos in the article are grossly misleading

to be honest, you should replace the "tango" photo with an image of a typical overcrowded tango milonga

2. the tango is not limited to the "tragic, slow" traditional songs; in the milongas about 30% of the songs are either fast milongas either valses (waltz rhytm)

anyway, a tango dancer will learn very fast to dance salsa, whether a salsero will have a hard time (no wonder salsa is more popular, as it is WAY more easy to learn)

You can go as slow as you want. If you can breathe in and shift your weight slowly from side to side then you can Tango. You don't need to be athletic or musical. In Salsa you have to be quick, athletic and musical. It's very hard to connect with someone when you are moving so fast and doing so much. In Tango, you just connect, tune into the other person, then move slowly and keep that. So much easier. You don't even have to make eye contact! Also Tango has practically no turning of the partner in crazy circles. Much easier.
