verizon treats its prospective customers better than its current customers, consequently its established customers become someone else's prospective customers. With comcast all are treated as well.

Comcast allows free digital adapters to receive digital channels, whereas Verizon requires a set top box (an additional charge for each extra TV) for each television. I also believe Verizon requires you to pay for the electricity wasted from the box/node on the side of the residence in which you subscribe to their services. Verizon FiOS is not available in most areas, whereas Comcast is available almost everywhere I've been. Comcast offers many local On Demand choices. Comcast also usually offers a modem that DOES NOT include a wireless router in it, allowing the customer to keep or choose their own wireless router (this may change soon though). Comcast is also offers the fastest internet speeds, now at 105MB/sec. Whenever I've had a problem Comcast has resolved it. There have been a few outages, but not recently (no outage in the last 6 months or so). If there is an outage, it lasts no more than a few hours AND I get credited for the time the services were unavailable.

I have no affiliation with Comcast, and am not biased in any way. I have been an Xfinity Triple Play customer for over a year now, and have been very happy with their services. I am just stating my experience and what I've learned about Comcast along the way.

Verizon FiOS looks great, but is lacking some of the above features I mentioned. I hear FiOS actually has better picture quality, and that their internet is more well-managed, but I have had no issues with Comcast internet. Also, picture quality may vary for each provider by location.
