Coke has a nutty, tangy, interesting flavor. Pepsi is just sweet and bubbly. It also has a slightly unpleasant chemical taste.
Pepsi seems to me as more of a party drink than an "anytime drink".

Coke doesn't seem to have as much carbonation as Pepsi does, so it doesn't hurt my throat to drink it as much as Pepsi.

Pepsi tastes too sweet. Whereas Coke, has just the right blend of sweetness and carbonation to leave a very satisfied feeling after drinking.

I find coke makes a more satisfying chaser for rum, also by itself does not leave that 'edgy' taste on my tongue like pepsi does.I am therefore more comfortable with the 'coke' taste and treasure its long tradition.
