Difference between Snuggie and Slanket
The Snuggie and the Slanket are both items that are meant to give the person who wears them the warmth that they may want while in their home. However, though the two are usually thought to be the same product, they are definitely not. There are many key differences between the two. The Snuggie and the Slanket differ in the material that makes the two, the size and fit to the person, and the cost.
Material
Probably the biggest difference between the Snuggie and the Slanket is the material that each is made of. The Snuggie is made of hard and thin fleece. While the Slanket is made out of 100% polyester and a much thicker fleece than that of the Snuggie. In regard to which material is the best, the thicker fleece is going to hold up much better when used regularly and placed in the wash. In terms of material, the Slanket is the winner.
Size and Fit
Both the Snuggie and Slanket are made for adults and children. However, each fits completely different. For those that wear the Snuggie they will find that the fit is more or less like wearing a robe. One you put your hands through the sleeves, the Snuggie will be open in the back, which could possibly lead to feeling some drafts. However, it will be easy put on and to remove.
On the other hand the Slanket is made more like a blanket with sleeves. The material is going to drape over the person and will be hard to move in since it is literally the size of a blanket. But the Slanket is going to cover your back better than the Snuggie. Thus, the winner in size and fit is the Slanket.
Cost
Cost is always the biggest aspect when considering any product to purchase. In terms of price, the Snuggie is going to cost much less than the Slanket since there is a cheaper material used and there is less of that material that constructs the Snuggie. The Slanket is almost double of what the Snuggie is because of the good fabric that is used and the fact that it is the same size as a blanket. In terms of the cost, the winner is going to be the Snuggie.
Summary
Both the Snuggie and the Slanket are products that are meant to address those that are cold around the house and still want to have their arms free in order to do the things that they enjoy doing, whether it be reading a book or holding the remote. However, each product is fairly different from the other, and which is the best product really depends on the person that is purchasing it and their personal preferences.
