Vidya Balan, was born on January 1, 1978 into a non film background. Her acting skills being commendable, Vidya is someone who can make a character come alive on screen. Starting her acting career with a Bengali film Bhalo Theko in 2003 and other soap operas and commercials, Balan is now among the few who have seen success at the Box Office repeatedly.

Katrina Kaif, born to a Kashmiri father and British mother was born in London and started her career as a model. After being cast in Kaizad Gustad’s film, ‘Boom’, Kaif turned towards acting seriously.

Claim to Fame

Vidya Balan’s first appearance in the film ‘Parineeta’ was noticed and the film was quite a success at the Box Office. She received a Filmfare Award for Best Actress (Debut) in 2005. Here, she was seen to rub shoulders with two heavyweight actors — Saif Ali Khan and Sanjay Dutt. After this, there was no looking back for Vidya Balan. Her fine acting won the hearts of many. Meanwhile, we see Katrina Kaif bagging a lot of awards and thereby, beating other renowned actors and slowly becoming the face of India. Her appearance as Abhishek Bachchan’s lady love in the movie ‘Sarkar’ was noticed and appreciated.

Vidya Balan’s ratings as an actress have been sky high and she is said to be one of the most talented actors amongst her contemporaries. Even after repeated setbacks in the South Indian Film Industry, Balan did not accept rejection and failure but kept on working towards success.

Kaif, on the other hand, kept on giving her best shots one after the other. But her performances as the lead in the movies ‘Race’, Äjab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani’ and ‘Rajneeti’ were the ones that won her praises in the form of awards.

The Near Future

Even after being linked to numerous actors, Vidya Balan dusted off her shoulders and continued progressing towards her goal. She does not mind the critics and controversies around her and walks through them with her head held high. Championing Tamil, Malayalam, English, Hindi and Bengali, Balan was offered all types of roles throughout her acting career. From ‘Bhalo Theko’ opposite actor Joy Sengupta to Lolita in ‘Parineeta’, who speaks in Hindi, she has done it all. Her new film ‘No One Killed Jessica’ is expected to climb the charts yet again. Here she plays the role of Jessica Lal’s sister and she has lived up to it.

As for the Katrina, we await her appearance in the upcoming film ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ where she has been cast opposite Hrithik Roshan for the first time. She also has plans of working as a producer in the near future.
