Who They Are

Justin Bieber is a Canadian singer born on born March 1, 1994. His debut single was released to worldwide acclaim in 2009. Called "One Time", the song hit the top 30 charts in several countries. His subsequent full-length release called “My World” was later certified platinum in the United States, making it the highest debut by a new artist for the year. The Jonas Brothers is an American pop band that has released four albums since being formed, and it won the Best New Artist award at the 51st Grammy Awards in 2008. At the time of this writing, the band had already sold more than eight million albums all over the world.

How They Started

Much of Bieber’s early success can be traced to video performances uploaded on YouTube, some of which came to the attention of his future manager Scooter Braun. Bieber was soon signed to a management contract with the Raymond Braun Media Group, with which popular R&B singer Usher B was affiliated. A subsequent recording contract was signed with Island Records. As for the Jonas Brothers, they owe much of their popularity to their affiliation with the Disney Channel. The band is originally from New Jersey, and comprised of brothers Paul Kevin Jonas II, Joseph Adam Jonas, and Nicholas Jerry Jonas.

Image

The Jonas Brothers have a squeaky clean image that is in line with the image that Disney has set for all its stars, Justin Bieber has attempted to cultivate a more street-savvy image…at least as savvy as teenagers are able to pull off. While the Jonas Brothers are proponents of abstinence from sex, drugs and alcohol, it appears that Justin Bieber has no such restrictions, and it is expected that he will move on to more adult themes in subsequent releases.
