Casablanca wins your heart within a mere sequence. With the As Time Goes By scene, we are immediately given a deep heartfelt idea of the heartache and love these characters shared. Then to see the blurred lines of war and love take over our characters reunion once again shows the strength in the narrative. This ultimately leading to it being not only among the greatest love stories of all time but an intricate tear jerker at that.

Both were great movies but Casablanca in my opinion has a better storyline that has both a touch of adventure and noir

Even tho casablanca is signifincally shorter i was bored really fast ... GWTW i could watch 100 times or turn it on at any piint and be captivated.yes its a love story and scarlett and rhett are a bad combo but they truely live eachother . But thays not only what the movie os about. Katie Scarlett gets a bad rep b/c she is high maintence but she is earthy, gritty hard working &determined she is the hart and soul of her family she doesnt mind getting dirty when necessary .people pick on the racist aspect and look at mammy as theonly slave in the book/film but prissy was trated horribly and that is accurate and Hattie Macdaniel(mammy) won the Oscar for best supporting actress African american to do so& clarke Gable refused to attend if ahe was not allowed to attend.if we are looking at this film w/ 21st century views we are doing this film an injustice we cannot be so anachronistic. It was made 83yrsago. Based in fiction on 2 differn perspectives 1930s pov and the antebellem south.

Although GWTW was a very long movie, I was really interested and didn't think it was slow or anything at all. I loved both films but I enjoyed GWTW more and do think it is one of the greatest films of all time. My favorite character was Rhett Butler because although he did love Scarlett and stayed with her, he was afraid to tell her that basically she is a selfish ****, but not in those words.
