I rather pick now. About 100 years ago was rather boring and people were not treated as equally back 100 years ago instead of now. Right now with the internet you have information and entertainment at your fingertips. You are a lot healthier and you have a lot better access to medical care than back then. You are not as hungry - there are a lot more options for food including fast food restaurants. About 100 years ago many times you got sick, you are dead. There are diseases such as smallpox that are now almost eradicated. The world was in war about 100 years ago which is a lot worse than even now - we don't have major world wars, just minor conflicts and no United Nations to stop those conflicts.

Simpler.Less distractions. Less crowding. Less people, more to go around. Parents had more time to teach and mentor their children. Parents were more mature at younger ages.

Because now (in my opinion) it feels like the world is ending and then it would have hope for the world but now it's more like the world is ending

It was safer

Simply because human life was valued more back then, due to no abortion clinics or extreme drug use. Plus self respect was a thing and there was little pornography or promiscuity

Although every generation has it's ups and downs in this broken world, i know that the collective of people, no matter where upon the earth, who worked hard to survive such as farmers, ranchers, soldiers, and gardeners were gentle and humble. These people were our great grandfathers, grandmothers, aunts, uncles that DID hand down there morals to the next generation. But, slowly inching in like a snake did lazy thinking by people who ate the food and goods set up by the farmer. People somehow became covetous, envious, greedy, selfish, with an ambitious unthankfullness toward those who worked hard and developed ways to make life for themselves easy and comfortable. In no time people like this forsook morals and now call them values which are not the same, not even close. Thankfulness and Humbleness in some are not there by accident it is a choice to be that way for they knew long ago that to give of themselves is a greater virtue that to spew venomous poison of an unforgiving heart onto others- like you see too often today. Turn off the TV,stereo,& the web and look deep into your heart about who you are, look up and give it to the one who loves you.
Life was simpler and the stress was lower.

because back then it was way better than it is now with the government a wreck and every thing else is wrong. Back then you didn't have to worry as much as you have to today.

I'm 60 I've seen a lot of changes in my time, more than some less than others. Most of the changes. I've seen are due to technology the modernization has been good in a lot of ways but also has made society in this country very lazy and disrespectful for the real reasons for family lifestyles (morals) I don't think anyone would want to go back to the hard life of 100 years ago but the real question is which lifestyle is really hardest ?

I have five children, 30 years ago this was acceptable, and manageable. Now parents are in fear, because society shapes our children, not us. No matter how hard a parent work at instilling values in there children, society will overpower those teachings and "drug" our children with how society expects them to think, act, and perform. Children today can fail school because there are laws in place to let them move on, instead of being held back. A girl can be pregnant at 13 because there are no penalty clinics to privately help them "take care" of the "situation". Parents can go to jail for punishing children. Society today is and infectiouse disease for families.

Today, we have been made to feel a failure if we do not have expensive homes, cars, clothes, tech gadets, etc. We set high expectations for ourselves and then suffer depression we we do not reach those goals. We self-medicate; pills, alcohol, street-drugs, food, etc. when we are depressed. We watch T.V. in our bedrooms alone, we eat our meals alone in front of th e T.V. and then wonder why are we lonely. In 1912 people were respectful of each other and spent time doing activities that we today we think silly; singing together, candy pulling, reading outloud to each other, etc. People worked as hard as they could and took pride in themselves and finished their work. Today, we put work off or do less then our best. Family time was a way of life not a ideal to strive to attain.

The country and the world has become Godless, and many people act like savages... nothing is sacred, nothing is respected, the government provides our rights and security instead of God.

Let's put it this way- Then: Respect, happy families, successful educated human beings, faith in God, Honesty.
Now: Murders for a burger and shake, Homosexuals, transvestites, tattoed bodies, violence, etc etc etc...
And people wonder why God will judge them?

It would be amazing if soceity today could go back to how it was 100 years ago. People now are sickening. We live in a world where it is ok to swear in every sentence, to have **** before marriage, to drink and have crazy fun. But really, when did all these things become OK to do?
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Good morals
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
People knew what was right and wrong back then. Children respected their parents and elders. It was easier to direct children in the right path since the society and parents were mostly better examples then.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
People were sincere and cared.

I wish we lived in the days before Big pharma, Big agriculture, weaponized medicine, the Military/Industrial Complex, endless wars, poisoned and fluoridated water, chemtrails, police brutality, the private for-profit federal reserve, federal income taxes, and Big Government.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
I just agree that there is a much greater lack of respect in society than there was 100 years ago.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
I selected 100 years ago because everything was so much more simple back then. That's why our kids r so bad and out of control these days. These kids r spoiled theyr so use to having everything instantly. My kids even try and rush dinner lol.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
People had more respect for eachother. It seems as if the society is demoralizing and nobody is safe.
