Hollywood actors do not have to project or modify their voice in the way for the audience to react or articulate better. cameras and micrphones are closed in in their face, so to make it look like a normal human conversation

Αcting on tv is harder. On stage you can exaggerate emotions while acting on theatre must be more subtle and realistic. An actor on tv must express emotions but not overdo it.There's a thing line bewteen being realistic and being expressionless.

No one eer remembers Broadway
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Just because I don't like theatre.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
they're both brilliant, but the actors in hollywood must also appeal to the art in film. film contains separate art forms other than theatrics such as visual effects and direction. actors in hollywood have to sell an idea drawn by the director more so than actors in broadway

While the talent held by Broadway actors is nothing to be ignored, actors in Hollywood have a more intimate connection with the viewer that cannot be duplicated by Broadway actors. Actors in Hollywood are often portrayed up close and must act with every facial expression made. Also, dialogue in Broadway acting must be overdone and sometimes seems like an alien form of speaking. In Hollywood, the dialogue seems natural and the audience can relate.

seeing broadway live is one of the best joys a person can feel and these actors have to get everything right all and once and don't have second chances
  • Anonymous . May 2021
They need to perform live in front of the audience.

because i did

Broadway seems to require much more work from the actors, showing extra devotion. Additionally, theatre is a much more special event and deserves more attention
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Because hollywood you can do retake after retake while broadway there are no second chances and you have to take hours of intense training and you have to have the “triple threat” while in hollywood actors and actresses are not required to memorize their lines because of retakes while in broadway you have to memorize your lines thorougly broadway actors and actresses are grossly underpaid and underrated
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
they are triple threats
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Because broadway actors have to have a better memory then movie actors, and they don't have directors to guide them through a theater performance.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Broadway is more likely to hire people for talent it's more selective and the actors work harder
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
they practice harder to be the best for when they get on stage, they dont need editing or special effects to make their performances great.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
It takes more strength and you have to beat more competition. You have to train for years and come very prepared because they’re not gonna give you unlimited tries. You also can’t get by through sleeping around as much as raw talent. And the people on Broadway seem more authentic and less shady than Hollywood. Hollywood has too many scandals and rape cases for me to keep track of and it’s sickening that no ones talking about it.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
They have to work in real time. A mistake can’t just be “cut” like on Hollywood. They also can’t get stunt doubles or anything like that. Their “special effects” are lights and other types of things.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Because being part of a broadway show is hard you have to have the triple threat and you need lots of practice and training
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Because i love musicals and the acting in broadway you need the talent and in broadway it takes more time to practice and actors and actresses get tired and they have to preform numerous shows and it will be hard besides broadway is hundreds years older than hollywood

Although I would prefer to watch a movie within the comfort of my home, I'd say Broadway takes the cake in terms of quality, especially since Broadway actors are REQUIRED to NEVER mess up, there are no re-do's.

Quality is better than quantity.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
It requires more skill. In movies you can get twenty takes and simply choose the best one. On broadway sure you have the months of rehearsal but it's up to the actors to improve in time for the debut. the Hollywood actors do their takes and leave it at that, it's now up to the editors to make it work as a whole.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
as i read this article, i've known that the broadway is more difficult than hollywood(in my opinion) because hollywood could get a retake again and again if made a mistake. yet, in broadway you couldn't got a retake, you must prepare or partice first before the show is begin and yeah i think the entertainment industry that has better actors is broadway.

Broadway has the better acting skills/abilities, but Hollywood makes great films and good culture. Acting in a play is a good thing to watch!

just because
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
because they're the real deal, hollywood actors are just bullshitters who don't gotta learn lines. **** ouutta heea
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Broadway actors have one shot - movie stars have more.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Hollywood actors can hide their flaws when on screen not to say you don't need talent, you most definitely do. However, when acting on stage you need to be on ALL the time, no retakes or redo's. Being talented in acting, singing and acting is crucial.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Broadway give more challenge to actors
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
They are more real actors, they have a lot of pressure on them. They literally have to perfect and make no mistakes on stage
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Broadway actors are more challenged because they have one chance but Hollywood actors can do things over and over again.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
The actors on Broadway have the pressure on them to get it perfect the first time they peform for an audience. If they make a mistake, they have to find a way to salvage the show. Although, I would rather watch a Hollywood production because you'll get to watch it over and over again or watch it in the comfort of your own home. But with Broadway, they have higher expectations for acting.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
One chance one shot. The performance on stage is live and we as the audience can tell whether the performance from the actors is believable or needs improvement. Hollywood also has many critically acclaimed actors, but there are those who are more fortunate to not have the skills of acting by hiding behind retakes, editing, special effects, and other avenues that would heightened a rather less than mediocre performance given by an actor. Plus, actors in film are less pressured to perform perfectly than that of stage actors. Lastly, the stage, as mentioned here, is not as critical on appearance. Hollywood sometimes prefers looks over acting. Stage is not able nor allowed to choose looks over acting. Acting is of the upmost importance on stage and that is why stage, than in film, contains better actors.

Broadway actors are good every time. Hollywood actors only have to be good once.

Triple threat acting, dancing, singing
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
They do it good on the official take. Film actors have weeks of rehearsal, and STILL messup
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
It's wonderful
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
they only have one chance to do something while the hollywood actors have several shots to get something right
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
In broadway, they won't really critique who you are as a person ( i.e. popparazzi
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Becuase I think that they have to work harder, they cant just stop in the middle becuase they messed up.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
One chance to get it right. Lets put a Broadway actor in a movie and a movie actor in Broadway and see who prospers.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Hollywood is just an overrated, manufactured piece of **** spewed out by an industry intent on doing little more than making money. In this modern day, there is no talent in Hollywood- just sparkly ****. In comparison, Broadway is a well oiled machine with every last part (every last actor) made and remade until it is the embodiment of perfection and confidence; made so that it will never fail its job.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
your preforming, live in front of a huge audience & critics that will either give good reviews or bad reviews that can ruin the whole show and your career as an actor/actress
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
we have one shot only
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Broadway actors memorize long scripts and have to do it all @ once in front of a lot of people. Hollywood actors have many chances to "get it right"
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Broadway actors are not in it for the fame and "glamorous" lifestyle that Hollywood actors are. That isn't to say that movie stars like George Clooney, Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt or Robert DeNiro are incapable of performing well on Broadway--but they are celebrities, people who want fame

the performers are trained to project their voice to a LIVE audience every night, no autotune used !
Look at Michael Ball, Alfie Boe etc

Theater is the essence of acting!
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
it's pretty obvious. the question is who's the better actor, not who makes more money. they are much more prepared than hollywood actors and have to get it right the first time. one chance, one opportunity, one take. one mess-up=disaster.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
More talented
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Broadway actors are better because they can actually perform in front of a audience
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
As an actor in community theatre, I feel that you need more skill and stamina to act in front of an audience. Once you mess up, the show either recovers or goes down the toilet. If you can act successfully in front of an audience of 500+, that's talent. Broadway will always be the mecca of performance.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
they have to do it live! it's not fake, their are no retakes or touchups
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
They have way more talent then movie actors!
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
