The advert relates more to the financcial industry and as soon as you start watching the advert you understand the industry it relating to, whereas with reuters it does not seem related to the financial industry and it is like they are advertising for a different product. Also the music used with bloomberg seems more professional.

Well, each time you see interviews or clips from trading floors you easily identify that the vast majority are Bloomberg users. How?? By looking at the computers screens which interfaces are black.

Also, when reading financial books like "Too Big to Fail", "The Big Short" for example, and how many times are not "The Bloomberg Terminal" mentioned? I have yet to read about "The Reuters Terminal":)

One is my perspective, bbg is an American company, Reuters is UK and I cannot discount that bias. Another is that bbg was founded within the financial markets and that has remained is primary focus; Reuters foundation was news and the financial markets focus was added on, and to some extent that perception still applies.

Bloomberg is an american product, developped by Michael Bloomberg whereas Reuters is british. It is obvious that Bloomberg would be preferred in Wall Street which is an american stock exchange market.
