It is more effective. Goal-to determine if the product is right for You. Your you combine the information about your needs with the information you learn from review or comparison. Comparison gives you more objective information. Review is more effective if you have a lot in common with the reviewer. ( which is rare).
Comparisons are the way to go. Thats why I love this site.
