Since Gandhi gained India's independence and ended up being split due to the Hindu and muslim conflict that separated people and ended up causing a civil war that still goes on today, while Dr. King brought people together to eliminate the color barrier.

  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
King's legacy and nonviolent system still holds true - black or white we're all Americans. India is still one of the most racist places on the planet.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
because there is a bigger population of African American and white Americans than there are Indians and British, so when he finally did bring them together i was on a much bigger scale. Also because African Americans and White Americans have been fighting for a long time, but Martin fought for other races too, Gandhi did not.

Martin Luther King Jr wanted all of the blacks and whites and all other races to be together Gandhi wanted only the country that he lived in to work together and it wasn't just over racism it he fought for everyone not just his country it was for the world.

Gandhi caused a broken bond between Hindus and Muslims that led to war.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
There were more Indians, but there are more black people in the world. MLK freed a race, while Gandhi freed a country. MLK led a minority, and still achieved his goal, while Gandhi led a majority. MLK was more influential on the world.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
He joined the white and black race in America, and impacted the world's views on civil rights. Gandhi only represented his people for freedom, but did not join together a group of people

  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Dr.King was able to give the idea that all races should be together, but of coarse he wouldn't have done that if Gahndi braught up the idea of non-violence.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
usa had more people
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
because he brought all of america together while gandhi just had india
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago

King was struggling against a Black and white phenomenon which was present all around the world at that time.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
his country is not at war
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Because he succeeded where Gandhi did not
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
King challenged the way the individual thought rather than a certain number of indivuals. Thus, those who sided with him understood the faults created by themselves. King challenged the mind, rather than a government
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
because he was black
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
martin luther king brought more people together because he was over a year he stuck to what he believed in along with Rosa parks.I agree with Gandhi 100% but Martin Luther King JR. alittle bit more

  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Kind was moved that he brought a number of books on the indian nationlist leader. He belived that becoming a minister would be the best way to lead his people to equality and freedom. He wants his men to get equal rights, freedom of speech, equal opportunity. He led their nation to get high place in society. He was a peacemaker.

  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Martin Luther King Jr brought more people together becuase he brought together almost the whole world, where as Gandhi only brought together some citizans from India.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
because he want equality and peace for both white and black people without race difference.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Martin Luther King Jr, in bringing African-Americans together with Europeans, brought many different ethnic groups together. Today, in America people of all different races can sit together, play together, and talk together in a more than civil manner. Americans don't think twice about the nationality of the person they work next to because we have all melted together and adopted the name "American".
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
I chose Martin Luther King Jr because without the speech that he made before he got shot than so many more people would be dying every day.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Martin was much more world wide
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
He was in more danger and influenced the whole world while Gandhi only worked for India's freedom

because in episode 5 they wanted to give the white people a chance but remembered that then black people need a chance so he sleep with shannon ( a white chick) and after that had a white baby (martin luther king jr jr) and after that he had a dream of bring his bastered child to the black so he could be accepted... then he relized that his kid would be lucky cuz he was black and white... the end =) p.s. his mother was a hooker
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago

Martin Luther King Jr. brought more people together because when he opposed against segragation everybody was separated. Once he made his speech and helped everything start to become integrated, he brought many more people together. Martin Luther King brought all races to mix together and be poud of who we are.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
because dr king had people thinking this isnt right and people began standing up for what they believed in
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
martin luther king had a speach that had many people attending and many people were on board with non violent protests. HE used words to make a change.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
I choose king because black and white people alike all loved him I am not saying people did not love Gandhi but king brought more people together by giving the african americans there rights.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Martin Luther King joined together blacks and whites while Mahatma Gandhi was against his rulers.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago

he was inspire by gandhi work of how to fight for people right without any violence and to accomplish his goal no matter how long or difficult it is.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago

  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
i chose this because martin luther saved thousands of blacks. he taught people to live the life tat doesnt have segregation and violence in it. he is the reason the blacks and whites are all free.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
He integrated the U.S.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Because Ghandi divided a lot of people and made things worse in India, while MLK was for active disruption against the injustice of racism and tyranny and embraced tactics that were even "violent" by Ghandis standards, like physical disruption and blockades and the general strike.....I like that MLK was more aggression than Ghandi, though Malcom X was better.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Gandhi spoke mostly to his nation and the slavery of his people. But Martin Luther King spoke for the Afro-American movement but throught that many races from hispanic to asian join the cause not just one race but many raceses.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
because he made speechs.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Without Martin Luther King Jr. here at the time and wanting to fight for freedom; slavy would still be known for African Americans.

  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
gandhi separated the different races but martin bought black and white to peace
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Gandhi was too radical in that he wanted the individual to gain his independence within himself before true "home-rule" could be completely fulfilled. More specifically, Gandhi advocated against modern civilization, especially "machinery"(technology). He despised the "middle-class" which included doctors, lawyers, etc. True credit should be given to Daved Thoreau for his amazing and revolutionary "Civil Disobedience" essay that influenced both Gandhi and MLK and many others. In the other hand, MLK was very wise in his techniques. Many overlook his education, they overlook the eight years of graduate school earning him a doctoral. He won the civil rights movement by uniting his people, talking there language(biblical references), and knowing how to appeal to the rest of America.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
because he brought the white and blacks together.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
bcuz hes the greatest
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Because there was a major gap between the treatment of African-Americans and Whites all around the world. MLK helped bridge that gap and allowed people to realize that inequality towards any man was wrong no matter what race he was.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
because that around the world african americans were treated badly, gandhi just helped in one area.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
BECAUSE MARTIN LUTHER KING WAS BLACK!

Black people can dance better than white people, therefore they attract bigger crowds.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
because he was black.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
i say this, because Gandhi used peaceful movements to make sure that the indian people were treated equality. Although King also did this with the African Americans, worked more to unite the people of India and not just make sure they were equal
  • Anonymous . October 2020
Ghandi was able to get all nations to support him.

  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Mahatma K.Gandhi's works can be complete without the mention of Martin Luther King Jr. While the later works can't be complete without the mention of the former.Gandhi was like a teacher to King. Just as the greatness of scientists such as Galileo, Newton, Einstein & the lots today are credited to Aristotle. So are the works of men of non-violence like Martin Luther King Jr, Mandela, e.t.c, were made possible through a careful study of Gandhi. To me, King was one of those people that were brought together as a result of Gandhi's non-violence campaign. Mathematically, we can conclude that a part(King) can not be greater than the whole(Gandhi).
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
good heated
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
I don't know
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
More people in India than the population of African Americans in the United States.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Gandhi brought more people together because Gandhi was the one who inspired Martin Luther King jr. to use non-violence. So technically Gandhi brought more people together himself and through MLK.

in my opinion Ghandi was more effective because he also would go against those who wanted to fight for there freedom, where as MLK from what i know and found online, seemed to just act like the black panthers were not there and would ignore them. Ghandi also was able to help in many countries where as MLK only helped with equal rights in the USA. Also i think since Ghandi did just small meetings he showed tat he only wanted freedom and didn't plan on thretning the health of the people he was standing up to.

Gandhi united all people Under the thought that it takes two groups of people to ensure that a government runs smoothly, the government and the governed; whereas, mlk mostly spoke of African Americans and of morality of laws from a biblical stand point, which unfortunately not all people can agree.

For the simple fact that Gandhi was able to unite Muslims and Hindus in India. At that time (1920s-1040s) that meant the population of the whole India.

I chose this answer because India is free thanks to Gandhi. Dr. King helped stop racism but it still goes on today. :)
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
I selected Mohandis K. Gandhi because of the great things he has done. Going mostly towards the poor of India, Gandhi discovered ways to help them in their time of needs, and listened very intensely to their problems and concerns. Gandhi was very altruistic because he wasn't being a stubborn person- he was caring for people other than himself. Gandhi's seditous speeches really helped other people take a stand in what they believed in. People were acting conformative, yes, but very little amount of people did so. They were all individuals in a way, because they also believed in Gandhi's encouraging words. He made a majority of India feel like there was hope, and there was. If Gandhi had never taken a stand, no one would have.
