It's the one I started with. It's a preference whose justification is habit and an experience of seeing it help lower my blood pressure.

I have been doing various mixes of yoga for about 10 years. I just started Bikram a few months ago. I find that the benefits are that you want to eat healthier and drink more fluids. Bikram is excellent for detoxing your system. I still enjoy the other forms of yoga, but for now, Bikram is my first choice.

authentic and ancient method. gives students room to grow and learn what they need to develop a life long personal practice

It is the most challenging version of yoga, and also the most 'real'form by my opinion: unlike in Bikram where the hot room creates the heat for the practitioner, in Astanga the yogi self creates the inner heat through special breathing. In Astanga the variety of positions/asanas is so big that it is practically never-ending trip from easier asanas slowly towards more and more demaning ones, unlike in Bikram where the same 26 positions are trained time after time.

I think Bikram its great I have done it for two years but is the hit what challenge you, while Ashtanga is the yoga postures that is challenging. I think it will be the next step if you are looking for something more spiritual and physical.

Ashtanga if done Mysore style is can be done at your own pace. It also appears to be the best at opening up hip joints. It is also inauthentic and traditional method of Yoga.

I love the flow of Ashtanga, the spiritual aspect, that it's a super-efficient workout, that I always feel happy and alive after practicing, and the fact that the goal of practicing it is to learn to yoga on your own, to be able to practice independently where ever you are. And it makes you love your body, from deep within, to co-operate with it rather than to try to beat it.

most approachable...classes can vary in intensity or difficulty depending on teacher...I am fortunate to be able to attend classes regularly about 4x a week and each teacher offers a different challenge and experience

I have tried Bikram Yoga, it resulted in pure happiness and bliss after each class :) BUT...the heat THE HEAT. Each and every other class, was for me fighting against/with the heat...so decided for another form of Yoga.
