i own a sportster 1200 custom. wreck it twice and it is still going strong and has no leaks. there are a lot more accesories for the harleys than any other bike and they are very tough bikes. most **** bikes are to long and not as manuverable as the harleys. most cops will agree with the manuverablity of the road kings compared to the hondas. the harleys are work horses.

I won a Harley and have never had a problem with it. I drove a Honda once and there is no comparison. The Harley just feels right whereas the Honda...... well, it's just a Honda.

Superior engineering, Honda has consistently been improving both their products and manufacturing. Their motorcycle racing pedigree is proof positive of their ability to craft superior machines on all fronts. Their sales numbers speak for themselves and the massive fandom built around their classics models (CB,XR,XL etc.) is more widespread than people building custom Harleys. Harley is a lifestyle brand with a sub-par product attached to it, it sustains itself on image and advertising, appealing many to men in the throes of mid-life crisis or young hooligans with more dollars than sense.

I drove a Honda for many years. It was dependable and comfortable as my wife always rode with me. I tried Harleys but they didn't measure to to my Honda.

Honda Goldwing is the best made cruiser Harley is now **** Chinese, Korean who ever can make their parts the cheapest.

I ride both and the Honda is more comfortable and is a really good safe bike. The Harley is a bit rougher to handle. But the Honda runs smoothly. Also, when I got into a accident with my Honda, I wasnt even phased.

They are just made better

Honda is an engineering company first and foremost. Harley Davidson is about America pride " build in the USA". Both are pretty good motorcycle company.

Having owned both, the HD Classic required more lash adjustment and accelerated oil adds / changes. My GW was get on, ride... Fuel eco was better with the GW. Averaged 45 - 50 depending on elevation / terrain. the GW handled better. The ride more comfortable and forgiving. With the Engine placement the CG was more attuned to the ride and handling. Don't get me wrong. I did like both motorcycles. As I got older the GW was more of my leisurely ride...

For obvious reasons, I won't bring up the "Signature exhaust Note". The GW was a bit quieter. (Duh)...

The simple fact that Harley has refused to upgrade it's design model to incorporate liquid cooling ... Or any of the inovations of the last 20 years.

I own a harley davidson big twin, 2006 Dyna. Parts and maintenance far exceed similar expenses on my former Honda VFR.

Hondas set the pace for technology. World's largest manufacturer of engines of any type. Honda makes more Civics than Harley Davidson makes motorcuyles.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
More maintenance free, and more dependable. It is water cooled and has a longer engine life. More up to date technology than the Harley.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
With the long rides I have been on, the Harley's seem to be broke down more often than Hondas. Matter of fact, I don't think there has ever been a Honda breakdown when I'm on a ride.
