Justin Bieber was born on March 1, 1994 in Canada. A pop and R&B singer, Bieber first came to public attention in 2008 when he was seen on YouTube by Scooter Braun, who later became his manager. Braun then set up a meeting with Bieber and R&B singer/producer Usher, a meeting that resulted in a production deal and recording contract for Bieber.
Miley Cyrus was born on November 23, 1992, and in addition to her music career as a pop singer, she has also achieved some success as an actress. Cyrus was in fact first noticed in Disney Channel’s “Hannah Montana” TV series, in which she played dual roles as Miley Stewart and Hannah Montana.

Justin Bieber's debut single was released to massive global acclaim in 2009, and quickly hit the top 30 charts in more than ten countries all over the world. Called "One Time", the single was quickly followed up by the release of Bieber’s debut album entitled “My World”. Released on November 17, 2009, the album has since hit platinum in the United States, making Bieber the first artist in history to produce seven Billboard Hot 100 songs from a debut album. The follow up album called “My World 2.0” was equally successful, and it contained the single that cemented Bieber’s status as a household name, "Baby".
Miley Cyrus’s music career started off with recordings for the Hannah Montana and Hannah Montana 2/Meet Miley Cyrus soundtracks. In the wake of her growing popularity, Cyrus then embarked on a solo music career, signing with Hollywood Records in 2007. She also launched the “Best of Both Worlds Tour” in the same year, in which she reprised her dual roles as Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana on stage. The tour was a huge success, and paved the way for the concert film “Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert”. Cyrus released her first solo album in July 2008. Called “Breakout”, the album was a huge international success.

Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus have crossed paths numerous times in their careers, although what has made the most headlines is the reputed spat between the two. it was reported in several tabloids and websites that Cyrus has made statements to the effect that she wasn't “necessarily a fan [of Bieber]”, and that she “[didn't] listen to that kind of music”, preferring Kurt Cobain. While this may be nothing more than Cyrus speaking her mind, some have alluded this statement to Bieber’s own statements to the effect that Cyrus “not [his] type".
