  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
I just started using the bow today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It sounded great, so I think I agree with the 45 other people who say it sounds better.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
It can play music from The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings while the guitar would sound like a bunch of weird chords.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
The violin sounds more graceful and is a beauty. The guitar, on the other hand, sounds like plucks and confused strums. Awesome = Violins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It just sounds better.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
They are just nice.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago

The violin just sounds better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Who does not know that?!!The violin can make more beautiful and delicate noises while the guitar can only make a boring plastic like strum. Also, you can get more money for playing the violin at Orchestra Hall. Of course, you have to audition and play really, really well to get into it.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
It has f-holes to make the sound more unique and beautiful.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
It can make a beautiful hum while the guitar can only make a loud strum or a plastic like noise. Also it is very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very hard to use a bow on a guitar, ( in fact it is impossible to do without causing a bit of a mess of things).
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Because it's more mellow.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
The violin has a WAY better sound than a normal old guitar also the violin is more soothing like honey than those jazzy snazzy guitars. Guitars remind me of corn grinding in a mill and I do NOT like that sound because it makes me flinch. The violin also makes a smoother sound. VIOLINS RULE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) I love the violin because I have had much more experience with the violin compared to the to the little experience I have had with guitars. Guitars do not have any interesting noises like the violin does have in its range of noises that it is able to produce very well. Violins can also play many songs that the guitar can not even start. Guitars have yucky bar chords to learn when us violins can make better noise without yucky old bar chords, thank you very much. Violins can learn faster than those guitar players because the violins' noise is much more distinctive than the guitars'. The violin has a more creative noise than the guitars' dismal one. They can make many more noises than the guitar.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
I think the violin has the better sound compared to the guitar because the violin can use a fancy bow while the guitar can only do a lot of boring strum, strum, strum. The violin also rules because I play it!:)
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
It is to confusing to learn the guitar's notes by heart!
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago

  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
Violins have f-holes, guitars don't. Therefore, they sound better.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago

  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago

  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
i have played the violin now for a very long time and the acoustic guitar for a couple of months but in my opinion the violin has a great sound plus its been a lot easier to learn with and play new songs on it with the guitar i STILL need practice the violin was a lot easier,i love the tune of the guitar but i adore the violin better.
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago

The violin is more individualistic and smooth whilst a guitar sounds all over the place with all the various strings being played, and it sounds more metallic.

I Play The Violin But I Am Going To Play
The Guitar
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
I really think that arco playing has a lot of depth and color
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
1. Violin's sound is clear while guitar is just from a pluck
2. While all the guitar does is pluck, the violin can pluck AND bow (though the guitar's strumming sounds much better than the violins)
3. Other than being able to bow where a guitar can't, a violin can also create glisses and vibratos and many other cool sounds
4. Playing the violin seems more exquisite than playing the guitar
5. The beauty of the back and forth of violin bows adds to the beauty of its sound where guitars usually are forced to live their poor, lonely, worse-than-the-violin lives by playing only by themselves
6. Violins also are more awesome, therefore, they can always play better than guitars, its just a matter of if a guitar actually sounds good enough to challenge them to make them need to defend their title of fourth most awesome instrument (first is recorder, second is piano, and third is an empty spot just in case I forgot something or it turns out violas are better, and I was lying, recorders are SO LAST PLACE, besides, of course, string <-The household item, not the type of instrument, I love puns)
(By the way, this answer might be a little teeny bit biased)
  • Anonymous . 3+ yrs. ago
it has shorter strings which make it louder

You have more range on guitar than on violin. Guitar you have different strumming and picking patters, as well as different effects for electric. You have a more options on guitar.
