Vimeo is family friendly, well, ok, look at it this way, I can walk into a bad side of town on vimeo, but I have to work at it, youtube and dailymotion are like, I could be In a really nice section of town one moment and then just one click later I'm like, in a hardcore red light district.

a) it actively addresses copyright rather than adopting the "infringe first, apologize if necessary" approach of YouTube
b) it isn't Google
Commercial with Pro Plans.
Vimeo has better content so far due to own creation encouragement. But when we want to watch oldies then Youtube is the choice.
Better design and better overall experience.
Vimeo is more personal and creative. YouTube is more akin to mass media.
Vimeo is a community for professional filmmakers and photographers, not for little kids wanting their 15 mins of fame.
