I have both systems. I sold the Bose and bought the Yamaha Neohd system. Yamaha is more warm and gets much better bass and sub. Bose is tinney and totally misses the midrange. Get the Yamaha
very good quality sound with reasonable price tag. Not overpriced :)
It sounds so much better and Japanese tech is better then American

YAMAHA Micro sound systems are often ONLY half the price of BOSE systems. Yamaha is MUCH BETTER VALUE for MONEY; MUCH MORE RELIABLE; HEAPS EASIER TO USE, and sound MUCH BETTER. BOSE Music Wave Systems have far too much treble at low volume levels, BUT don't sound too bad at very loud levels; unfortunately, most people CANNOT use mid to high or loud levels, without upsetting their neighbours. At a "USEABLE" or practical level, Yamaha sounds every bit as good; often HEAPS BETTER than a doubly priced BOSE system. Why choose BOSE????

American systems like Bose use cheap speakers; chinese transformers; gimmicks;
expensive marketing; cheap electronic components, Japanese & Philips chips, yet cost much more than a comparable Japanese brand like Yamaha. In almost all cases, the Japanese brands are far superior; better value for money; far more reliable, and cheaper to fix, if and when something goes wrong.
Because Bose do not have the buying power of larger corporations, to buy components in bulk at discounts; do not have the wealth of resources including some of the best electrical engineers in the world, they simply can't compete; you merely pay twice as much for an inferior product.
