Prozac - 18
HAVING READ MANY ARTICLES ON THESUBJECT OF DEPRESSION, IT APPEARS EVIDENT THAT PROZA C IS PRESCRIBED MOST OFTEN.
It's been around the longest and has a proven track record
Because I am smart
Cymbalta is newer and more expensive. Prozac has been researched more throughly.
it's been around the longest, has the longest track record, and the least severe common side effects
Oldie but goodie
My doctor says it has less side effects than Cymbalta which I had requested as treatment for general anxiety disorder and fibromalgia and arthritis pain
Cost factor.
much cheaper than symbalta
I am a male patient with Major Depression.
Prozac, for me has no sexual side effects. I felt much better on it than any other antidepressant.
Cymbalta made me severely impotent. That was the reason for discontinuation.
It is the oldest
know
It[Prozac] has a higher public visibility than Paxil and Cymbalta, but Cymbalta, through its advertising, focuses on the chronic pain relief as opposed to anti-depression component.
It seems to have less side effects in comparison to paxil and cymbalta
Been most effective
Because Prozac has been used for ages its pros and cons are well known by patients and physicians so the more we know about a medication and its benefits etc makes prescribing easier. Where as both cymbalta and paxil are not as old as Prozac thus pros and cons not as well known as with Prozac. I also consider Prozac a great medicine for females where as males tend to respond better to paxil Zoloft etc.
I've heard it mentioned more often.
Works the best
Paxil - 1
I HAVE NO IDEA
Cymbalta - 8
it is newer...there is no generic and medicine is a business.
It is newer than than the 1st two & I take it.
Newest,most expensive.
Advertised more than others
I have been on this for about 4 years 60mg. Don't ever try to quit cold turkey. You will have dizzy spells and extreme fatigue. I wish I never got started with this. It is very expensive. It does help though with the depression and pain.
just a guess
I have had depression for years and developed fibromyalgia in my mid 30's...so why not take a product that can treat both conditions
Fibromyalgia is on the rise.
