SharePoint does not easily provide for crosslibrary searches. Basic search is limited to full text but, like Doucmentum simple search, is just a Google-like full text search with search results. Feel Documentum is more robust and OS and browser independent.

Documentum is the real ECM software and its not hosted only on MS software.
Documentum is integrated with the DFC Environment and Documentum uses the DFS service to connect environment.

Sharepoint uses the .net frame work it is plat form dependent,in share point all objects are not secure only some objects will be secure.
According to the security reasons Documentum is best choice.
It is integrate with java technology and documentum allows different services sharepoint dependes only Asp,.net and SQL servers
Documentum is good at storage and retrieval and also it consists of various advance features which are not present in sharepoint. It is flexible, for each and every functionality it provides different products so that user can use pariticular product for particular requirement based on client requirements.
with WDK it is easier to customize and only extend the capabilities required by a business unit
