Formula one is the pinnacle of motorsport and engineering. It test a drivers skill under accelaration, braking, and g-force on a variety of turns. NASCAR involves a driver turning left the whole race.

As a Southener and a member of a NASCAR family I can honestly say Formula 1 is a Gentleman's racing compare to a bunch of Bubba's in NASCAR. The skill of F1 is also a key reason to watch it over the other.
What's there to explain. One race, Nascar goes round in circles, while F1 races are held around the world at various speedways!
3rd bullet say's it all. F1 racing is all about driver skill. Just watched the F1 race CotA in Austin. Hamilton and Rosberg fighting for the win. Exciting race, one driver error by Hamilton, arguably the best driver on the track, Hamilton fights back and makes up most of the time he lost, but Rosberg wins by a small margin. Pit stops can make such a difference, love watching them ... feel bad for the team that blew it on one tire change, but still made a quick recovery. Love watching F1 but only been to one.
It has to do with the actual skill of the driver because they are not always turning left.

I attended my first F-1 race last summer. It was a blast. Very interesting.....drivers had a good, clean safe race, plus all of the fans were civilized, remained sober, (for the most part), and females had their tops ON!!Just the exact opposite of NASCAR, but a HUGE hit with me. Hope to be going very soon.

Formula one each track is different and much more challenging than oval tracks. Technology isn't embraced in nascar as it is in F1.
F1 is more interesting because they dont go in straight lines most of the time. The narrow and winding nature of the circuits make F1 far much more interesting to watch
