Wicked is the all-around better show. While The Lion King has family appeal, it retains the slightly cheesy Disneyified songs and humor. Wicked is a unique performance showcasing the truth behind the story we all know as "The Wizard of Oz", with wonderful messages of acceptance, popularity, and love. With Elphaba's wonderfully human display that is both heartbreaking and identifiable for everyone in the audience, it's clear Wicked is the winner - with lessons important to all ages.
